Srinagar, Mar 31 (KNO): A journalist from South Kashmir Tuesday accused forces of stopping his vehicle when he was carrying his grandfather, seriously ill to District hospital Anantnag.
Talking to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Skinder Gulzar who works for local daily said that he was stopped by naka party of police near Naina Sangam Bridge this morning when he was carrying his critically ill grandfather who was in unconscious state.
“The police personnel on the naka Party asked me to go to Deputy Commissioner’s office first and get movement pass,’ said Skinder, adding that the forces don’t even cared about the health condition of his grandfather.
“I was begging before them to let me go as condition of my grandfather is very serious but they didn't listen to my pleas,” he said. “I was forced to contact Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anantnag and after his intervention only, I was allowed to go.”
He thanked SSP Anantnag and SHO Bijbehara for their timely intervention and requested authorities to take action against the officials who were present at Naina Sangam bridge on Tuesday morning –(KNO)
